  • This study aims to obtain information about the influence of multi-representation based learning on the material of the respiratory system on the cognitive ability of students in class XI Interests Biology High School Srijaya State Palembang. The research method used is Pre-Exsperimental Design with One Group Pretest-Postest. Determination of sample research using Sample Random Sampling. Research subjects were learners (n = 29). The research data were taken with the test instrument in the form of 20 multiple choice questions and 5 description test. The results showed that the average value of the final test of learners increased compared with the average initial test score, with the gain obtained is 57.67 and n-gain is 0.74 which belongs to the high category. The result of statistical analysis showed that multi-representation based learning had a significant effect on the cognitive ability of the students on the respiratory system material in the XI class of Intercultural Biology of SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang.
