This research is a quantitative descriptive research that aims to categorize and desribe the ability of students to solve the PISA problem through the application of mathematical modelling approach. Subjects in this study were 32 students of class 8.7 in SMPN 1 Indralaya. This research using observation and test as data collection techniques. The results showed that in general the ability of students to solve the PISA problem categorized as good and indicator with the largest percentage is employing.
