  • The development of math-based song lyrics for children aged 4-5 years in Kartika II-I Palembang kindergarten has been done with the aim to produce a valid and practical mathematics-based songs for children aged 4-5 years. Development is done using the Rowntree model including planning, development, and evaluation. Techniques of collecting data using interview method, walkthrough, observation. In the evaluation phase, formative evaluation was proposed by Tessmer, which is self evaluation stage, expert review obtained by average score from experts of 3.94 categories is very valid because the material is in accordance with the indicator that is the content of the song, mathematics learning suitability for children aged 4- 5 years, and conformity with the needs and development of children aged 4-5 years. In terms of media also in accordance with the indicators of song melody, legibility and language conformity, and the suitability of the number notation. One-to-one and small group evaluation aims to see practicality is practical if the experts and practitioners claim that the developed product can be applied. The results of the one-to-one evaluation and small group evaluation with the indicators are able to recognize the concept of addition, geometry concept, and measurement concept obtained an average value of 83% very practical category. Practical meaning of math-based song lyrics attract children in recognizing the concept of mathematics through the method of singing. The disadvantages of this product are in the suitability section for the needs and development of children aged 4-5 years. In the lyrics section of the math-based songs there are some lyrics of songs that are difficult to understand by children aged 4-5 years. For further researchers should further develop the lyrics of songs created by using language that is easily understood by children aged 4-5 years.
