FUNGSI KOGNITIF PASIEN USIA LANJUT DENGAN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DAN PENYAKIT JANTUNG KORONER DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG TAHUN 2018

- Introduction: Cognitive function is a human brain function which can be influenced by several factors, namely age, gender, education level and medical history such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and coronary artery disease. This research aims to determine the score of cognitive function and cognitive domains impairment in elderly patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus and coronary artery disease in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang.Method: This research is a descriptive study with a cross sectional design. This research is conducted in November 2018. Sample size is 62 respondents , who have met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Cognitive function obtained by Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) questionnaire. The result is being processed by SPSS software version 23.Result: Out of 62 elderly respondents with type 2 diabetes mellitus and coronary artery disease, 32 respondents (51,6%) has cognitive impairment. With 27 patients (43,5%) experiencing mild cognitive impairment, and 5 patients (8,1%) with severe cognitive impairment. And as for the decreased cognitive domain there were 56 patients (90.3%) experiencing the recall-domain impairment, followed by 44 patients (71%) with language-domain impairment, 36 patients (58,1%) with attention and calculation-domain impairment, 32 patients (51,6%) with orientation-domain impairment and 5 patients (8,1%) with registration-domain impairment.Conclusion: Majority of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and coronary artery disease has mild cognitive impairment and recall-domain impairment.
