  • This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative script model on the ability to reading comprehension of grade V SD Negeri 137 Palembang. This research was conducted on the even semester of academic year 2017/2018 at SD Negeri 137 Palembang. The method used in this research is Pre-Experimental Design with type one group pretest-posttest design. Sampling in this research with random sampling technique. The research instrument used is written test in the form of essay question as many as eight items. The difference between prestest and posttest data is analyzed by using t-test to see whether there is influence of cooperative script model on students' reading comprehension ability. Based on the prerequisite test of pretest and posttest data analysis that the data is normally distributed. After the research hypothesis tested with t-test obtained tcount = 7.11, while from ttable = 2.060 so it looks that tcount> ttabel. Therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the use of cooperative script model has an effect on the reading comprehension ability of grade V students of SD Negeri 137 Palembang.
