  • Computer games that contain violent values are played a lot not according to the age of the players, especially children who still occupy elementary school age. Games that have no value in violence, such as educational quiz games are less desirable. So need a speech recognition function into the game, which uses Speech API. This study focuses on the use of Speech API in the development of educational quiz games in controlling the method of play, then looking for the accuracy of the speech API most suitable for use, and retrieving data on the interests of the players. Accuracy testing is done based on gender, age, and word language on noise conditions, microphone volume, and speech intonation. Data collection was carried out to students of Palembang PUSRI Elementary School. The test results, obtained Speech API is most suitable to be used in controlling the playing method, namely when the condition of the amount of sound intensity is generated against noise less than 45 decibels (dB) with 50 microphone volume on flat intonation with 74.1% accuracy and data retrieval, obtained 81% of players prefer and are interested in the method of playing educational quiz games that have speech recognition.
