- This research, entitled the Effectiveness of Sign Language Communication in A Quiet Place Film. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of sign language communication in the film A Quiet Place. In this research, the authors used the S-O-R theory (Stimulus, Organism, and Response) by Hovland. This research method uses quantitative methods with descriptive data types. Respondents in this study were students of the Department of Communication, Sriwijaya University in Palembang Area, batch 2015-2018 who had watched the film A Quiet Place. Data collection techniques using questionnaires by google form. The results of this research indicate the effectiveness of sign language communication in the film A Quiet Place is excellent which means effective. This is seen from the results of the total accumulative research of each indicator of Stimulus Organism and Response which shows a score of 330 included in the category of very good or effective.
