- Museum is an institution, place of storage, maintenance, security and utilization of material evidence of human culture and also its nature and environment in order to support efforts to protect and preserve the nation's cultural wealth. One of the museum's functions is to communicate museum collections to the public. A museum generally has a guide to communicate museum collections to the public. In the museum of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Palembang, a guide will accompany visitors while presenting information of the collections at the museum. Given the limited number of guide and the ability of the guide to reach all visitors when the museum is in crowded condition, the researchers attempt to create an innovation to support the role of the guide, which provides information collection of museums easily and quickly to every visitor through a mobile-based applications. The design of this museum guide application based on user characteristics and attention to the aspects of user experience. The application development method used is Rapid Application Development which consists of three phases, there are requirements planning phase, the design and construction phase, and the implementation phase. The output from the research is a mobilebased application that provides access to information services museum collections that visitors can use.
