- The research objective aimed to determine the feasibility of Straw Chopper Machine Modified for Defibering Coconut. It was conducted from February to July 2019 at the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research used descriptive method, by collecting the data (survey, interview, and engine testing), processing data and analyzing the data. The observed parameters of financial analysis were effective capacity of the engine, cost analysis, feasibility analysis and sensitivity analysis. The results of decomposition in cocofiber and cocopeat, the result showed value of effective capacity of 68.31 kg/hour with speed rotation of engine 1500 rpm and the result of feasibility analysis with investation criteria NPV (Net Present Value), BEP (Break Even Point), B/C ratio showed that the investment of Straw Chopper Machine Modified for Defibering Coconut is declared feasible, with a NPV (Net Present Value) of Rp. 434,186,574 , BEP (Break Even Point) for the production volume of 30,931.35 kilogram, BEP (Break Even Point) for the production price of Rp. 539 /kg, and B/C ratio of 2.9954.
