  • FITRI MUSYAROFAH. Water Storage Efficiency and Production of Caisim (Brassica juncea L.) Using Dust of Rice Husk and Subsurface Drip Irrigation System (Supervised by K.H. ISKANDAR and RAHMAD HARI PURNOMO). The research was aimed to determine the effect of rice husk dust composition in soil media using ultisol soil and subsurface drip irrigation system on water storage efficiency and caisim (Brassica juncea L.) production. This research was carried out from January 2019 to August 2019 at the Plant House and Laboratory of Biosystems, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The method used experimental study in form of non factorial Complete Randomized Design (RAL) pattern with five levels of treatment and each treatment was repeated five times. The parameters of this study were consisted of the water storage efficiency, number of leaves, fresh weight of stover, dried weight of stover, and dried weight of roots. The results of this study showed that the mix composition of growing media affected the water storage efficiency, fresh weight of stover, dried weight of stover, and dried weight of caisim roots, while the number of leaves only shows an effect on two weeks after planting. Planting media with a composition of a mixture of 3 parts of soil, 0.2 parts of manure and 0.8 parts dust of rice husk (A5) showed the water storage efficiency, fresh weight of stover, dried weight of stover, dried weight of root with average values of 82.61%, 101 g, 7.46 g, and 0.98 g respectively. Keywords : planting media composition, subsurface drip irrigation, water storage efficiency, caisim production
