- This study is entitled The Effect of Anti-Smoking Advertising on Smoking Behavior in the Kelurahan Silaberanti of Palembang City. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of a scary picture of the warning of the anti-smoking ads on cigarette packs on the smoking behavior of active middle age smokers in Kelurahan Silaberanti, Palembang City. The number of samples in this study were 96 respondents. This research was analyzed using quantitative methods with correlation analysis and simple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the study, there was a significant correlation between the dangers of smoking advertisements (scary images on cigarette packs) on smoking behavior. Hypothesis testing results shows that tcount> ttable, which is 5.563> 1.665, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is an influence between the anti-smoking advertising on smoking behavior of middle age smokers. The value of R square or the Coefficient of Determination (KD) in this study was 0.248. This shows the magnitude of the effect of scary image variables on cigarette packs on smoking behavior is 24.8%. While the remaining 75.2% is influenced by other factors outside the X variable.
