  • Research on submicro particles formulations of papaya leaf extract as biolarvasida has been done with magnetic stirrer speed variation. Papaya leaf extract is formulated by coating extract particles with polymer there by changing the shape of papaya extract particles into submicro particles. Preparation of papaya leaf extract into submicro particle dosage form using chitosan and sodium alginate polymer with ionic gelation method aimed to increase the activity of larvasida extract. Submicro particles component consisting of papaya leaf extract, chitosan, sodium alginate, and CaCl2 using magnetic stirrer speed variation 500, 750, and 1000 rpm. The optimum formula obtained has a speed of 1000 rpm with an EE percent value of 71.90%. The results of submicro particles characterization such as diameter and particle size distribution (PDI) using particle size analyzer (PSA) tools were 189.2 nm and 0.330. FTIR study results showed no chemical interactions occurred, so that papaya extract can be formulated into submicro particles containing chitosan alginate polymer. XRD study results occurred changes of the particle shape from crystals to amorphous on submicro particles. This study was conducted with 8 concentration and 2 control samples, each samples consisting 20 larvae of Aedes aegypti instar III. The observation time is 24 hours. Test of Biolarvacide activity of papaya leaf extract was done with concentration variations of 200, 500, 800, 1100, 1400, 1700, 2000, 2300 ppm. Activity test of papaya leaf extract submicro particles was performed with concentrations of 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225, and 250 ppm. The results of probit analysis with linear regression obtained LC50 papaya leaf extract of 1059 mg while on submicro particles of papaya leaf extract obtained LC50 of 123, 594 mg. The result of statistical analysis with Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney test showed that all concentrations in the treatment group had a significant difference to the control group with p <0.05.
