  • This study aimed to determine the effect of combination of bagasse and tea waste as growing media on the growth of Pakchoy (Brassica rapa L.). The experimental method used a Complete Random Design (CRD) which consist of eight treatments and three replications. The treatments consist of P0 (control) and P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, and P7 were combination of bagasse and tea waste with calculation were P1 (bagasse 175 gr and tea waste 25 gr), P2 (bagasse 150 gr and tea waste 50 gr), P3 (bagasse 125 gr and tea waste 75 gr), P4 (bagasse 100 gr and tea waste 100 gr), P5 (bagasse 75 gr and tea waste 125 gr), P6 (bagasse 50 gr and tea waste 150 gr), P7 (bagasse 25 gr and tea waste 175 gr). The data was analyzed with ANOVA and continued with Duncan’s Real Differences Test (DRDT). The result of this research showed that by giving combination of bagasse and tea waste as growing media influence the growth of Pakchoy (Brassica rapa L.). The research indicated that the treatment P6 with combination bagasse 50 gr and tea waste 150 gr concentration significantly affected on increasing leaves of Pakchoy, the root and shoot fresh weight, the root and shoot dry weight and not significantly affected on ratio root and shoot. Based on the result, combination bagasse 50 gr and tea waste 150 gr concentration was recommended treatment to increase the growth of Pakchoy. The informations of this research was expected to be an alternative of contextual example in Biology learning XII class 1st semester in Basic Competence 3.1 Describe the relationship between internal and external factors to the growth and development process in living creatures. Basic Competence 4.1 Making plan and doing experiment about external factors that were influence to the growth and development plant. The result of this research will be donated in the form of learning tools (Syllabus, lesson plans and student work sheet).
