- This study aims to assess the limiting factors that affect the suitability of oil palm plantations and assess the suitability of land for oil palm plants at PT. Waimusi Agroindah. This research was conducted in December 2018 - April 2019 in the oil palm plantation of PT. Waimusi Agroindah, Ogan Komering Ilir, Kota Kayuagung. Analysis of soil physical and chemical properties was carried out in the Laboratory of Chemistry, Physics and Soil Biology, Land Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used in this study is a detailed level survey method with the help of a 1: 10,000 base map. The area of the study was 76 ha consisting of three plots of land, namely plot A1 covering 36 ha, A10 25.4 ha and A13 15.6 ha. Determining the location of sampling is done by the grid method. The sample points are 10 sample points determined based on the proportion of land area where each sample point represents ± 7.6 ha, each of 5 points in plot A1, 3 points in plot A10 and 2 points in plot A13. The soil sample is taken by drilling 30 cm deep for laboratory analysis which at each point is taken composite, ie from 5 points including the main point. The results of this study are sample points T1, T2, T3, T8, T9, T10 which have pH limiting factors, sample points T4 and T6 have limiting factors for dry months, CEC and pH, sample points have a limiting factor T5 has a limiting factor for months dry, CEC, pH and slope, and sample point T7 has a limiting factor K2O. The actual land suitability for oil palm plants in the study locations was S3-f, S2-wa, f, S2-wa, f, s, S3-n. The suitability of the potential of oil palm plants in the study location is S1 (very suitable), namely by overcoming the limiting factors for dry months, pH, CEC, K2O and slopes. Key words: Oil palm plants, land suitability.
