- Sargassum sp. is the most abundant type of seaweed from the group of brown algae (Phaeophyceae) which are spread in tropical waters. This study aims to analyze the growth rates of Sargassum duplicatum seaweed daily, weekly, absolute and analyze the relationship of physical and chemical parameters to the growth of seaweed in Lampung Hurun Bay. This research was conducted in October-November 2018. Observation of seaweed growth was carried out for 35 days. Environmental parameters measured include temperature, salinity, current speed, pH, DO, brightness, nitrate and phosphate. Data analysis using basic loose-leaf method which was then analyzed using One way anova test using the help of SPSS 16.0 software. The results of this study indicate the rate of growth of seaweed with a weight of 150 gr produces good growth. Environmental factors such as the speed of water movement are thought to affect the growth of Sargassum at the cultivation site.
