  • This study aimed to determine the technical and economic comparison of the transplanting system (Tapin) and the direct seed cropping system (Tabela) at PT. Buyung Poetra Pangan. This research was conducted in April 2019 to July 2019 on the land of PT. Buyung Poetra, Simpang Pelabuhan Dalam village, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The research used descriptive method, with data presenter in tabular form. The parameters of this research were technical and economic aspects. Technical aspects including the land management, seed selection and preparation, maintenance, harvest and post-harvest. Economic aspects including the cost and revenue analysis and efficiency analysis of wetland rice farming (B/C ratio). The costs incurred by PT. Buyung Poetra Pangan in rice farming was a fixed and variable costs. The total fixed costs in the transplanting system and direct seed sowing were no different, in the transplanting system the cost was Rp. 3,619,000 and in the direct seed cropping system was Rp. 3,619,000. Technical economics on the Tapin system and the variable costs incurred were different, namely on the Tapin system of Rp. 10,355,000 and in the Tabela system of Rp. 9,175,000. The B / C ratio in the transplanting system was 2.07 and in the direct seed cropping system was 2.41. Based on economical terms the Tabela system has more revenue compared to the Tapin system. While from a technical point of view the Tapin system requires more labor compared to the Tabela system
