  • Spinner shark (Carcharhinus brevipinna) is one of many shark species that are landed at Muncar, Banyuwangi. This species is main target of longline fisheries there. The large number of people demanded to consume shark has increased the explotation of this species, wich threatened the sustainability of this shark resource. The purpose of this study was to obtain information on the population parameters of spinner shark at fish landing Muncar, East Java. This study was conducted base on data from November 2018 to February 2019. Spinner shark sampling were taken using random sampling. The data analysed by Microsoft excel, SPSS and FiSAT II. The results showed that the spinner shark had negative allometric growth pattern, Von Bertalanffy’s growth parameters: growth rate (K) 0,05 year-1; asymptotic length (L) 327 cmTL, and age at L0 (t0) were 1,37 year-1 for males and females respectivenly. Mortality parameters, total mortality rate (Z) 0,67 year-1, natural mortality rate (M) 0,57 year-1, and fishing mortality rate (F) were 0,10 year-1. Exploitation rates (E) of spinner shark were 0,15 year-1 for males and females respectivenly and indicating low level of exploitation.
