  • Based on Palembang Mayor Regulation No. 75 of 2016, BKPSDM of Palembang City is a supporting element of Government affairs in the field of staffing, education and training. Job promotion is a transfer that enlarges authority and responsibility to higher positions within an organization followed by obligations, rights, status and greater income. The promotion process that took place at BKPSDM in the city of Palembang is still experiencing some problems such as managing human resources, in managing employee promotion takes a long time, the employee promotion process is still based on file collection by manual selection so that errors occur frequently and error in making a decision because there is no system that is capable of selecting appropriate or not employees to be raised according to existing criteria. Based on the facts above, this study provides a solution using information technology as a means to reduce human error and improve the quality of decisions based on the use of application systems. Weighted Product (WP) is one of the alternatives offered by researchers as a basis for making job promotion decisions at BKPSDM in Palembang City.
