This research was conducted in January 2018 to May 2019 in the equipment and Machine Workshop of Agricultural Technology Departement, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatra. The method used was a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAKF) with two research factors, namely rotational speed (A) and plant material type (B) with three treatment levels and each treatment combination was repeated three times. The research's parameters were the work capacity of the equipment, the uniformity of the results of the counting and fuel requirements. The results of this research showed that the blade rotation treatment and type of plant material have a significant effect on the effective capacity of the machine, uniformity of the results of chopping and fuel consumption. The highest value of the effective capacity of the machine was found in the combination of the treatment speed of 1300 rpm ± 20 with the type of rice straw plant material (A3B1) amounted 1.26 kg / hour. For the percentage of the average combination of treatment uniformity results of the most chopped 2 cm to 5 cm was a combination of treatment speed of rotation of 1100 rpm ± 20 and the type of elephant grass plant material (A1B2) amounted 62.24%. And for the lowest fuel consumption there was a combination of treatment speed of Blade rotation of 1100 rpm ± 20 with the type of water hyacinth plant material (A1B3) amounted 0.369 l / hr.
