- The objectives of this research are to: 1) calculate the income of farmers in technical irrigation rice farming and farmers of carp farming in Bangun Harjo Village, Buay Madang Timur District, East OKU Regency. 2) to analyze what factors influence farmers to switch from rice farming to carp farming in Bangun Harjo Village, Buay Madang Timur District, East OKU Regency. 3) to analyze the difference of farmer's income of technical irrigation rice farming and farmers of carp farming in Bangun Harjo Village, Buay Madang Timur District, East OKU Regency. This research has been conducted in Bangun Harjo Village, Buay Madang Timur District, East OKU Regency. Data collection was done in August 2017. The research method used in this research is survey method. The sampling method used in this research is the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling with the subject of farmers switching farmers and farmers who do not switch to farming. Samples observed were 49 farmers, the data have been collected are primary and secondary data. The result of this research is the average income of farmers per month that switches bigger fish farming that is Rp.4.323.442,00/ha/month, while per plant is Rp.17.293.737,00/ha/mt. Compared to farmers who do not switch fish farming per month is Rp.3.253.224/ha/month. As for the planting season of Rp.13.012.897,00/ha/mt. Significant factors influencing farmers to switch rice farming to carp farming are income, land area, and land location. While the age of farmers, the level of education and the number of dependents of the family did not significantly influence in influencing farmers to switch rice farming to carp farming. There are other variables outside of these variables are pests and diseases in Bangun Harjo Village, Buay Madang Timur Sub-district, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. Farmer income difference for farmers who switch farm and farmers who do not switch farming per planting season is Rp.4.280.870,00/ha/mt. As for the difference per month of Rp.1.070.218,00/ha/month. The result of analyzing the difference of paddy and goldfish income income using two middle values test was obtained with value 3,797> 2,017. This means that there is a difference between farmers' income that switches farming and farmers who do not switch to farming.
