HUBUNGAN KUALITAS FISIK RUMAH DENGAN PENYAKIT INFEKSI SALURAN PERNAFASAN AKUT (ISPA) PADA BALITA DI KECAMATAN SEBERANG ULU 1 KOTA PALEMBANG

- Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) remains one of the most common public health problems found in Seberang Ulu 1 Palembang City. The case may be caused by the condition of house environment where children live. The objective of this study was to analyzed the correltion between the physical house quality and ARI disease. This study was an observational research in cross sectional design, with 116 respondents. Sampling was done by Propotional cluster sampling. Analyzed using chi square test and multiple logistic regression. The results showed the prevalence of toddlers affected ARI is 65,5%. The result showed that from 13 variables studied there were 7 related variables: exclusive breastfeeding, home dwelling density, lighting, temperature, humidity and the existence of family members who smoke and floor. According to multivariate analysis, there was a dominant variable that was humidity with Prevalence Ratio 5,227; 95% CI; 1,533 - 17,818). It can be concluded that toddlers are not given exclusive breastfeeding and stay at home with the existence of family members who smoke, floor and density dwelling that not qualified more vulnerable to exposed ARI and if it supported by physical qualities houses that do not qualified such as lack of of light coming into a house so will affect the level of temperatures and humidity. Uncompromised house humidity is a contributing factor to the infection of the respiratory tract, because moisture is very influential on the proliferation of disease microorganisms. So it is advisable to always open the window to keep the air temperature normal and more light entering the house.
