- This research entitled aims to produce instructional media of video-based dance art that serves to introduce the art of dance that interest children in learning videos. This development uses modified development of Alessi & Trolip model (2011) and Tressmer's formative evaluation model. Stages of development are planning, design and development. The evaluation stages are self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation, and small group evaluation. Data collection techniques using walkthrough, interview, documentation and observation. Media based video dance instruction manual is valid based on expert review result obtained average value on two themes of 3.8% that have fulfilled product manufacturing procedure through material expert and instructional video design which means can be applied learning of dance to attract interest learn specially art of early childhood dance. Media-based video dance instruction manual is practically seen from the one to one evaluation stage obtained by average observation of two themes of 87% excellent category, While in the small group evaluation stage obtained the average observation of 92% excellent category which means the child can motivated in the development of dance because this media has audio visual elements through sight, hearing and display because of the form of CD. Suggestions for advanced researchers are assessing the potential impact of instructional media on video-based dance art.
