  • This research aims to (1) Calculate the income level of rainfed rice farmers during the rainy and dry seasons, and (2) To analyze the level of welfare of farmers who conduct rainfed rice farming. This research was conducted in Tebing Suluh Village, Lempuing District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatera Province. This research was done on July 2017. The sampling method used in this research is survey method. The population of rainfed rice farmers in Tebing Suluh Village is 617 people, then it was taken 30 sample farmers to represent the entire population. The collected data in this study were consisted of primary data and secondary data. The result of this research showed that the real income level of rainfed rice farming in Tebing Suluh village in rainy season is greater than the dry season. The average real income of rice farming received by farmers during the dry season is Rp. 9.568.378,43 per cultivated area while the average real income in the rainy season is Rp. 14.458.199,11 per cultivated area. The average cultivated area is 0,62 hectare. The total income of rainfed rice farming is Rp. 40.705.876,95 per year. The welfare rate of rainfed rice farmers in Tebing Suluh Village is not prosperous because the total income of farm households is only Rp. 3.392.156,41 per month is smaller than the standard value of decent living needs (KHL) of total family of farmers is Rp. 4.800.654,21 per month so it still has a shortage of Rp. 1.408.497,80 per month.
