  • Ngimbang Formation of Kangean Sub-Basin East Java Basin is a research area in this final project. The Ngimbang Formation consists of sandstones which are fairly good for reservoir rocks. This final project research data using well data (well AM-2 an AM-6) and 3D PSTM seismic data. Petrophysical analysis using well data to obtained a hydrocarbon reservoir vertically. The result of petrophysical analysis of AM-2 and AM-6 well obtained a hydrocarbon (oil) reservoir. Seismic interpretation using seismic data to obtained hydrocarbon traps, such as closed contours as the target area of research. Hydrocarbon reservoir had an low acoustic impedance values. Inversion seismic of acoustic impedance produced acoustic impedance distribution map to described hydrocarbon reservoir distribution horizontally. The inversion method used is model based, bandlimited, and maximum likelihood sparse spike. Model based inversion is the best inversion had obtained correlation value of 0.999031. The results of the acoustic impedance distribution map produced effective porosity distribution map. The result of the acoustic impedance distribution map producad effective porosity distribution map. The target area had an acoustic impedance value of 16000-18000 (ft/s)*(gr/cc) and effective porosity distribution value range of 13-30%. The reservoir target obtained estimate average oil reserves of 26.81 MMBO at FS6 north of the fault and5.9 MMBO at south of the fault. While, at FS5 obtained estimate average oil reserves of 10.5 MMBO at north of the fault and 3.8 MMBO at south of the fault. While, at FS5 obtained estimate average oil reserves of 10.5 MMBO north of the fault and 3.8 MMBO at south of the fault.
