- The academic information system (SIAKAD) is an important part of every educational, teaching and research programs in Higher Educational Institution. One of the indications of service success at a university depends on the extent to which information technology management has been conducted. Therefore IAIN Bengkulu as one of the Islamic state universities in Indonesia exactly needs a risk management to improve their services that can support the fluency, accuracy, convenience, and comfort for SIAKAD users. The purpose of a risk management is very important to do so that the internal and external parties can anticipate the occurrence of danger or damage that can be detrimental to financial and operational aspects. The framework used is COBIT 5 for Risk because it is considered comprehensive and relevant to solving the problem found. The stages of the framework COBIT 5 for Risk started from the identification of Risk, Risk Analysis, Risk Response and Risk Articulation. The results of the study in this case study contained forty risks, with a risk response option that is one risk transfer, seven risks avoidance, four risks acceptance and twenty eight mitigated risks.
