  • Management of drug for public needs is based on Minister of health in Republic Indonesia decisions Number 1121 Year 2008. One of the goals of drug management is to guarantee the availability of drugs. Inefficient management of drugs can lead to reduced levels of drug availability, drug vacancies, and the number of drugs that accumulate due to poor planning. This research aims to analyze the management of drugs in Pharmacy Installation of Lahat Department Health Services, which includes the process of planning, procurement, storage, distribution, deletion, and control, recording and reporting. This study used a qualitative approach. Data collection through in-depth interviews on 6 informant which consists of 2 implementing staff of Pharmacy Installation of Health Services and 2 drug managers at Puskesmas. Triangulation was done to head of pharmacy section and head of health service resources. Data analysis using content description analysis. Based on the results obtained that the Pharmacy Installation of Lahat Department Health Services in 2018 is experiencing the emptiness of the drug. Furthermore, the storage process is the preparation of drug stocks have not used the alphabetical system and the absence of a special cabinet for drugs class of narcotics. In addition to this system drug storage space is not sufficient enough to accommodate the stock of drugs that cause excessive accumulation of drug boxes. Inadequate facilities and infrastructure such as shelves, trolleys and human resources in the process of drug management. The general conclusion is that the management of drugs in the pharmacy installation of Lahat Department Health Services still not run in accordance with Kepmenkes RI No.1121 year 2008. It is expected that the Lahat Department Health Services can realize plans for the expansion of drug storage space, the addition of human resources, facilities and infrastructure and conduct training programs and seminars on drug management both for pharmacy staff of Health Services and at puskesmas.
