  • This research purpose to describe off task students behavior and strategies used by teacher in handling off task behavior of students in the class IV SDN 1 Payaraman. The subjects in this research are three teachers in the class IV and the most dominant students behave off task. The method that is used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The results of the research shows that the off task behavior in the class IV SDN 1 Payaraman is talking, the talking/opening the other materials, play something, eating in the classroom, singing in the classroom, sleeping in the classroom, scribbling books, playing stationery or other objects and distrubing friends by talking as the most dominant behavior of students with a frequency of 54 times. The strategies used by teacher in heandling off task behavior are verbal warnings of reprimand and advice, non verbal cues like head shake and using facial expressions, concequences off puninshment, silent of students and compliments to the other students.
