  • This study aims to determine the composition of herbaceous plant species in Swamp area, North Indralaya Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir. The study was conducted from April to February 2018. This research used descriptive survey method with Purposive explore technique. Sampling by using 9 Quadrant (plot) is spread evenly with size 5 x 5 m2 and distance between plot 50 m. The result of research indicate that in Swamp Area of North Indralaya Subdistrict found 25 species of herbs, belonging to 6 Order and 7 Family. The found were; (1) Cassytha filiformis L., (2) Peperomia pellucida L., (3) Phyllanthus niruri L., (4) Chamaesyce hirta L., (5) Ipomoea aquatica Forssk., (6) Ageratum conyzoides L., (7) Cyanthillium cinereum L., (8) Eclipta prostrata L., (9) Scleria sumatrensis Retz., (10) Heleocharis fistulosa, (11) Kyllinga brevifolia Rottb., (12) Cyperus distans L., (13) Cyperus compressus L., (14) Dichanthelium spretum L., (15) Imperata cylindrica L., (16) Sporobolus diandrus Retz., (17) Eleusine indica L., (18) Paspalum conjugatum Berg., (19) Brachiaria eruciformis L., (20) Digitaria ciliaris Retz., (21) Paspalum distichum L., (22) Eragrostis Amabilis L., (23) Cynodon dactylon L., (24) Panicum repens L., (25) Eragrostis unioloides Retz. Family with the most members of the species found were respectively: Poaceae. The results of this study are expected to be used as a learning resource in Biology Learning in SMA X Class Curriculum 2013 on Basic Competency 3.2 Analyze observational data on different levels of biodiversity (genes, species, and ecosystem) in Indonesia as well as threats and their preservation.
