- The problem raised in this study was domestic violoence, in terms of the background of the occurrence of domestic violence ini Kecamatan Ilir Timur III. This study uses the concept of domestic violence Moerti Hadiati Soeroso, 2010. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative with 6 informants of victims of violence, 4 supporting informants, 5 key informants. This study involved observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The results of this study are able to find out what lies behind domestic violence that occurs in Ilir Timur III subdistrict with the concept of the background of domestic violence namely infidelity, economics, child problems, selfishness and parental problems. There are also forms of domestic violence, psychological violence and sexual violence. Key words: Violence, Houshold
