  • The problem raised in this study was the role of school teachers in forming study solidarity at Palembang's St. Louis Junior High School and the obstacles during the implementation process in carrying out its role. This study uses the role theory of Biddle & Thomas (in Sarwono: 2002). The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative, with informants from 1 principal, 5 school teachers, and 6 students from class 7.8, and 9. The data collection in this study used observation, interview, documentation techniques. The results of this study are able to find out how the role of school teachers in forming student solidarity is categorized by the concepts of expectations, norms, forms of behavior, assessment, sanctions that focus on the school teachers involved. Then the obstacles that arise in the role of the school teacher include internal barriers in the students themselves and external from outside or the student's own environment.
