FERMENTASI XILOSA DAN ARABINOSA MENGGUNAKAN ISOLAT BUAH DURIAN (Durio zibethinus) DALAM PRODUKSI ETANOL
Daftar Isi:
- Research on the isolation and identification of durian fruit yeast used to assist the fermentation of xylose and arabinose to produce ethanol has been done. The yeast isolates D13, D14, D15, D16, D17 and D18 obtained from 10-2 dilutions were grown on YPDA (Yeast Peptone Dextrose Agar), YPAA (Yeast Peptone Arabinose Agar), YPXA (Yeast Peptone Xylose Agar), and YPSA (Yeast Peptone Cellulose Agar). The yeast isolates that have grown were further analyzed by microscopic, macroscopic identification, with the API AOC 20C API method. The results of identification using API Kit 20C AUX showed that the isolates obtained were Kodamaea ohmeri, Candida famata, Candida guilliermondii, and Crytococcuc laurentii. Isolates that have been identified are used for the fermentation of xylosan and arabinose substrates which are hydrolyzed using H2O. Based on gas chromatography data, it was found that the highest ethanol content on xylose substrate was found in fermentation using isolate Candida famata by 0.0034%. While on the arabinose substrate, the highest ethanol content was found in isolate Crytococcus laurentii by 0.0021%.
