PENGARUH PENGAMPLASAN (SANDING) TERHADAP KEKASARAN PERMUKAAN KAYU KAMPER SAMARINDA (DRYOBALANOPS) MENGGUNAKAN MESIN FRAIS HORIZONTAL
Daftar Isi:
- One aspect that an important role in the woodworking industry (wood machining) is the wood after worked the final appearance (surface roughness). The main purpose of this study is to obtain the optimum sanding conditions for minimum surface roughness. In this study the authors used Samarinda camphor wood (dryobalanops) as many as 12 samples. Wood in the process of following the standard ASTM D 4442-07. Wood used sandpaper grade 180, and the method used is the Central Composite Design (CCD) with a variant interval feed rates 13.48 mm/min up to 37.52 mm/min, interval variant belt speed 7.51 m/s to 24.49 m/s and depth of cut (a) constant at 0.2 mm. Surface roughness measuring instrument using Surface Roughness Tester Accretech Handysurf E-35 type. Results obtained the highest roughness Ra = 1.117 μm, while for the results of the lowest roughness values obtained Ra = 0.54 μm. The higher the belt speed is used resulting in the lower value of Ra and the higher feed rates used resulted in higher Ra values are also produced.
