- This research was a review about “Empowerment Model Based on Local Potential in Colorful Tourism Village, Burai Village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir District”. Purpose of this research was aimed to discover about the models used in local potential-based community empowerment in the Colorful Tourism Village of Burai Village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir District. This study using a qualitative descriptive as a research method.Types and sources of data obtained through primary data and secondary data with data collection techniques in the form of observations, interviews, and documentation. This study uses the theory of empowerment perspective by John Friedmann. The results of this study prove that the community empowerment program is a program carried out on the awareness of the community itself to make changes as an effort to develop and utilize the existing local potential. Then the desire to be changed was carried out through a program consisting of training on Weaving Songket, Purun Woven Crafts, and Processed Fish Groups (KOI). This study uses the Participatory Training Model.
