  • This research was aimed to compare the motivation of pursuing goals among the students who achieved the scholarship and those who did not in Civic Education study program of FKIP Sriwijaya University. The population were the students of Civic Education study program of FKIP Sriwijaya University 2014, 2015 and 2016 with the total number of population are 126 students. Purposive sampling is used as the technique of getting nonprobability sample. There are 88 students as the sample for the research, 41 students who achieve the scholarship and 47 who do not. To collect the data, the researcher do the documentation and give questionnaire. Then, the data are analyzed statistically by using percentage descriptive technique. Based on the interval criteria, the students who are highly motivated reach the number (62, 6%-100%) and those who are lowly motivated reach the number (25%-62, 5%). The result of the statistical analysis of both data collected shows that the students of PPKn study program of FKIP Sriwijaya University who get the scholarship are highly motivated (64%) and those who do not are highly motivated as well (64, 4%). There is no significant difference in the motivation of pursuing goals between the students of PPKn study program of FKIP Sriwijaya University who get the scholarship and those who do not
