  • This study is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach that aims to determine the ability of students in solving non-routine problems in learning mathematics in high school. The subjects were students of class X MIA 4 senior high school number 5 Palembang, amounting to 34 students. The data were collected using observation, test, and interview and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that in general the ability of students to solve non-routine problems is still dominated by the value of objectivism, value of control, value of rationalism, and value of progress. While two other capabilities are not dominant appear in the solution of this non-routine problem, namely the value of mystery and the value of openness.
