  • This study aims to examine the effect of government spending and local taxes on local income to the number of unemployed people in South Sumatra Province in the Province of South Sumatra by using panel data from 15 districts / cities in South Sumatra from 2011-2016. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis panel data with Random Effect Model (FEM). The results of this study are (1) Government and Regional Tax Expenditures have a positive and significant effect on unemployment; (2) Overall all variables have an effect simultaneously on the number of unemployed and can explain 68.96 percent of the variation in the number of unemployed.
