  • The objective of this study is to disclose the level of inequality of the economic development that occurs in the Regencies / Municipaties in South Sumatra Province and find out the effects of level of education, health and natural resources on the inequality. The data used in this study are the secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of South Sumatra. The tool of analysis used is the analysis of Williamson Index and the Panel Data Regression. The results of the study show that the inequality that occurs among Regencies / Municipalities in South Sumatra Province is relatively low. This condition is indicated by the value of the Williamson Index of most of the Regencies / Municipalities in South Sumatera which is lower than 0.2. There are only 3 Regencies / Municipalities that have the value of the Williamson Index of more than 0.2, namely Musi Banyuasin Regency, Municipality of Palembang and Muara Enim Regency. The result of the estimation on the level of education and health shows that those factors have a negative and significant effect on the inequality
