  • Mosaic disease in chili pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of the important disease caused by a virus and can be transmitted from disease to another healthy plants through Aphis gossypii. One of the plants potential have virus inhibitor substance was four o'clock flowers (Mirabilis jalapa L.). In addition to using extracts from M. jalapa, application fermentation extract compost enriched crustaceans products containing amino acids can also suppress the development of mosaic disease and insect vectors. The purpose of this research was to know the progression of the mosaic disease and A. gossypii populasion in chili pepper which has been applied with fermentation extract. The research was divided into two experiments: application by spraying and by drenching, with each experiment used randomized complete block design (RCBD). Each experiment consists of 4 treatments and 5 replication. The observed variable include incidence and severity of the disease, area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC), A. gossypii population, plant height, and area of canopy. The results of this research, plants treated with fermentation extract (TSNGlu, BP4, and BP4Glu) have significant effect to against AUDPC, A. gossypii population, plant height (application by watering), and area of canopy. While in drenching application, fermentation extracts have no significant effect to increasing plant height. BP4Glu treatment was the best treatment in suppressing mosaic disease and A. gossypii population in chili pepper. In terms of increasing plant height, TSNGlu treatment was the best treatment.
