  • West Java areas is one of the prone areas to earthquake disaster caused by Indo-Australian plate subduction activity towards the Eurasian plate in the South Indian Ocean of West Java and local cesarean activity on the land. This study aims to analyze the seismicity level in the southern region of West Java period 1960-2017 using earthquake data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) catalog at coordinates 6.78 ° - 9 ° LS and 106.38 ° - 108.75 ° East. Based on the results of data analysist of the southern region of West Java, the greater magnitude of the earthquake, the less number of earthquakes that occur. In addition, the result of spatial variation of b-value ranged from 0.8 to 1.8 with a spatial variation of a-value ranging from 5 to 10 and re-earthquake period with magnitude 5.5 ranged from 5 to 10 years. The results is the southern region of west Java Area was collated with high stress level and relatives high magnitude level.
