HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN MAHASISWA KEDOKTERAN TENTANG DOKTER LAYANAN PRIMER DENGAN MINAT MAHASISWA KEDOKTERAN UNTUK MENJADI DOKTER LAYANAN PRIMER DI INDONESIA

- Background: One of the health problems that occurred in Indonesia are low level of preventive efforts and clean-and-healthy behaviors , the poor condition of environmental health, and even low level of affordability and distribution of health services. Therefore we needed a doctor who is working in primary care that are expected to participate as the health gate keeper for the community. Meanwhile the knowledge about primary health physician is still at a low level and little amount of interest to become primary health physician in medicine. This research purpose is to understand the relationship between knowledge level of medical student about primary health physician and their interest to be primary health physician. Methods: This is an observational quantitative analytic research with crosssectional design using primary data. Research subjects is obtained from medical student’s questionnaire results in Indonesia in the form of google form. Sampling method was using total sampling to all of questionnaire result. From 1111 the results of a questionnaire that is obtainable, this research used a number of 1111 as the research sample . Result: On the chi square test obtained a significant relation between knowledge level of medical student about primary health physician and medical student’s interest to be primary health physician (p=0,000). Besides the knowledge, this result obtained that personality type has a significant relation to medical student’s interest to be primary health physician (p=0,012). While self-understanding, a delighted feelings, and social status are not related to medical student’s interest to be a primary health physician (p>0,05). Conclusion: There is a significant relation between knowledge level of medical student about primary health physician and medical student’s interest to be primary health physician.
