  • Nutritional status is a picture of a person’s physical condition as a reflection of the balance of energy intake and energy released by the body. Vegetarian is one of the consumption patterns that is now widely practiced especially by the Indonesians. A good consumption pattern can be assessed by the adequacy of total energy and macronutrients intake. This research has focused on the association of total energy and macronutrients intake with nutritional status of vegetarian at Maha Vihara Maitreya Duta Palembang. This research was done using analytic observational mothod with cross-sectional approach. Total sample was 148 vegetarian at Maha Vihara Maitreya Duta Palembang. Primary datas were taken with last 24 hours food recallalso height and weight measurements to assess nutritional status. The collected datas are presented in descriptive percentages as well as in narrative and analyzed by Chi-Square method with Kruskal-Wallis as an alternative method. Based on the results of the research, it was found that vegetarians at MahaViharaMaitreya Duta Palembang have sufficient total energy intake amounting to 75.7%, carbohydrate amounting to 64.9%, protein amounting to 77.0%, and fat amounting to 56.1%. Most subjects have normal nutritional status (68.2%). There is a significant correlation between total energy intake with nutritional status (p=0.014), carbohydrate intake with nutritional status (p=0.001), protein intake with nutritional status (p=0.039), fat intake with nutritional status (p=0.000). Most vegetarians at Maha Vihara Maitreya Duta Palembang have good of total energy and macronutrient intake. Furthermore, most of the research subjects have good nutritional status. There is a significant correlation between total energy and macronutrients intake with nutritional status of vegetarian at Maha Vihara Maitreya Duta Palembang.
