  • This research aims to know the correlation between job insecurity with the organizational commitment of a contract employee in a financial company (PT. X) in Palembang. The hypothesis was a relationship between job insecurity and organizational commitment of a contract employee in a financial company (PT. X) in Palembang The subject was 106 contract employees at the PT. X Palembang. The data were collected with population study method. Job insecurity was measured by job insecurity dimension from Greenhalgh & Rosenblatt (1984). Organizational commitment was measured by the Organizational component from Meyer & Allen (1997). The data were analyzed with the Pearson product moment method. The result of data analysis showed that there is a correlation between job insecurity with organizational commitment of an employee in a financial company, (PT X) in Palembang with the value R = -0,523 and P = 0,000 (p <0,05). The analysis show that R had negative value, it means there is a negative correlation between job insecurity and the organizational commitment.
