  • Insulation oil is one of the most important parts of the transformer. Insulation oil used in the present day most of the main material comes from non-renewable petroleum, with waste that is difficult to decompose. Several studies have been conducted to find alternative insulation oils using environmentally friendly vegetable oils. One of the studies has been carried out using RBDPO Olein palm oil. This research uses palm oil RBDPO Olein with the addition of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) which aims to improve the performance of vegetable oils as an alternative to insulating oil. The discussion included breakdown stress, viscosity, water content, and flash point. The addition of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) concentration was 0.025%, 0.05% and 0.075%. Based on the research that has been done, there is an increase in the most optimal breakdown voltage at an additional concentration of 0.05% with the largest increase of 47,37%. The viscosity value increases with the addition of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) concentration. As well as the flash point and water content values decreased with the addition of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) concentrations.
