- The purpose of this study is to find out the deixis and presuppositions of dialogue discourse in the Let Me Be With You novel by Ria N. Badaria. The problem in this study is how deixis and presuppositions of dialogue discourse in Let Me Be With You novel by Ria N. Badaria. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. Deixis data sources and presuppositions contained in the Let Me Be With You novel by Ria N. Badaria. From the results of the study, it is known the forms of deixis and presuppositions contained in the dialogue discourse of the Let Me Be With You novel by Ria N. Badaria. In this novel the aspect that is widely used in the dialogue discourse is the deixis aspect. The first person deixis has 13 forms of dialogue, namely my word, I, me, my, we, us. The second person deixis has 12 forms of dialogue, namely your word, you, ye, you. The third person deixis has 8 forms of dialogue, namely the word he, it, her, they. Deiksis where there are 7 forms of dialogue namely this word, that, here, there, come here, therein. Deixis time has 4 forms of dialogue, namely the word yesterday, now, tomorrow. While the presupposition aspects consist of 6 types of presuppositions, existential presuppositions there are 4 forms of dialogue, factual presuppositions have 2 forms of dialogue, non-factual presuppositions there are 1 form of dialogue, there are 1 form of dialogue, structural presuppositions there is 1 form of dialogue and counterfactual presupposition 1 form of dialogue. The learning implications of this study are expected to provide information about language understanding to students and readers, understanding the use of a language especially the language used by deixis which is often used in the daily communication process.
