PROSES TERBENTUKNYA LAPISAN PENYANGGA (BARRIER LAYER) DI WILAYAH TIMUR SAMUDERA PASIFIK PADA TAHUN 2001-2002

- This study have purpose to analyze the profiles of temperature, salinity, density, and to calculate Isothermal Layer Depth (ILD), Mixed Layer Depth (MLD) and Barrier Layer Thickness (BLT) in the eastern Pacific Ocean. This study used daily saveral data such as: temperature, salinity, density, wind and rainfall which obtained from morring TAO/ TRITON in 2001-2002. The processing data was completed by using FERRET software. Based on the obtained result, the profile of sea surface temperature in the eastern Pacific Ocean have values which ranges from 7°C - 30°C with densitiy ranges 1016-1026.4 kg/m3, and salinity ranges 33.37-35.65 psu. The higher BLT value was occurred in August 2002 due to the stronger influence wind and rainfall then make the ILD and MLD layers deepers.
