HIDROKSI LAPIS GANDA Mg/Al DAN Ca/Al TERINTERKALASI POLIOKSOMETALAT K4[α-SiW12O40]•nH2O SEBAGAI MATERIAL PENYIMPANAN HIDROGEN

- The synthesis of layered double hydroxide compound Mg/Al and layered double hydroxide Ca/Al intercalated with polyoxometalate compound K4[αSiW12O40].nH2O performed by comparison (1:1) has been done. The results of intercalated compound were characterized by using spectrophotometer FT-IR and XRD. Layered double hydroxide intercalated with polyoxometalic compound K4 [α-SiW12O40 ]•nH2O is used as adsorbent. The result of the characterization using X-ray diffraction by comparison (1:1) shows the successful intercalated of polioksometalat K4 [α-SiW12O40.nH2O] to layered double hydroxide of Mg/Al is proven by increasing the distance of the layers such as at the diffraction angle 18o from 7.548 Ǻ to 7.552 Ǻ, while for layered double hydroxide Ca/Al there is no changes of the layer distance, so layered double hydroxide of Ca/Al have to be heated 700 oC and also saturated by using water. This treatment increase the layers distance between Ca/Al from 4.888 Ǻ to 7.577 Ǻ . The characterization by using FT-IR spectrophotometer showed the good result of the intercalated process. Layered double hydroxide compound of Mg/Al intercalated by polyoxometalate K4[αSiW12O40].nH2O and layered double hydroxide compound of Ca/Al that is saturated by water are applied as hydrogen storage. The highest absorption conditions of hydrogen absorption generated by layered double hydroxide compound Ca/Al that is saturated by water at the optimum pressure 2 bar , optimum time 60 minutes, and the amount of absorbent 60.963 mg/g.
