PEMANFAATAN HYDRILLA (HYDRILLA VERTICILLATA) SEBAGAI BAHAN PENGISI TRANSPORTASI KERING IKAN NILA (OREOCHROMIS NILOTICUS) HIDUP = ULTILIZATION OF HYDRILLA (HYDRILLA VERTICILLATA) AS FILLER MATERIAL OF LIVE TILAPIA FISH (OREOCHROMIS NILTICUS) DRY TRANSPORTATION

- This research aims to know the proper composition of hydrilla and sawdust as dry transportation medium of tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) and to know viability on tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) transportation. This research used Randomized Block Designed consist of 5 treatments and 3 replicates as a group with structure i.e. W1 treatment (100 % sawdust and 0 % hydrilla), W2 treatment (75 % sawdust and 25 % hydrilla), W3 treatment (50 % sawdust and 50 % hydrilla), W4 treatment (25 % sawdust and 75 % hydrilla), and W5 treatment (0 % sawdust and 100 % hydrilla). Effective medium composition used hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata) were W2 (75 % Sawdust vs 25 % Hydrilla) with viability rate percentage 73,33 %. Fish weight loss during transportation has no significant effect to filler material composition of live fish dry transportation. Viability rate of tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) decreased along of hydrilla addition to the packaging. Live hydrilla was not effective for filler material of live fish dry transportation.
