  • Abstract: Research development of foodstuffs preservative learning modules based on Problem Based Learning(PBL) in the chemistry education program is aims to produce of the modul that are valid, practical and effective. This research used the Rowntree model modification with Tessmer formative evaluation. The development of Rowntree model includes; planning, development and evaluation stages. The evaluation phase includes self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group and field tests. Material validity has an average of 0,82 as high category. Valid pedagogik has an average of 0,74 as high category. Design validity has an average of 0,76 as high category. One used Tessmer, analysis of data from expert-review, one-to-one and small groups using the V’Aikens test. Analysis of result effectiveness the researchers used with N-gain test. The stage one-to-one produce of average Aiken coefficient is 0,61 can be categorized as medium, The stage small group of average Aiken coefficient is 0.72 can be categorized as high. At the field test stage using the N-gain score test produces of average N-gain coefficient of 0.71 as high category.
