  • The research about tomography of Sunda Strait and surrounding areas with a geographical location in and has been done, the study area is located between the southern island of Sumatra and the West of Java Island. The aims of this research are to determine the seismicity and subsurface of Sunda Strait through the distribution of velocity anomalies. The data used in this study is the travel time of P and S waves from April 2009 to December 2017, 1D reference velocity model, and station coordinates as supporting data. In this study, the first step is to relocate the hypocenter and continued by determining the three-dimensional velocity distribution that is divided into three stages, there are determine of the location in the 3D model using ray tracing algorithm, stains parameterization and inversion using an iterative method LSQR. The results of the analysis show that zone with low P and S velocity, and high ratio value located in the Krakatau zone, southwest in Sunda Strait, and the mainland of Java Island. The anomalous models Vp and Vs respectively had negative deviations of about -2.1% and -4.9% with a ratio of Vp / Vs of about 1.861 to 1.876 at depths ranging from 2-10 km. Based on the distribution of seismicity and seen from the subsurface structure of the study area, it can be expected that the source of the earthquake is caused by volcanic and tectonic activity.
