- ABSTRACT This thesis is entitled “The Role of Traditional Elite In Pagaralam In Helping The Struggle Oh The Sub – Commander Of South Sumatera In 1945 – 1950”. The problems studied in this study, namely why the traditional elite played a role in Pagaralam played a role in helping the struggle of the commander of South Sumatera, and how the traditional elite played a role in Pagaralam the struggle of the commander of South Sumatera Sub – Commander in 1945 – 1950. This writing uses historical methods by carryig out four steps of research, namely heuristics, critism, interpretation, and historiography. Whereas, for file collection the author conducted a literature study techbique, namely reviewing the sources relevant to the study of the author. In maintaning the integrity of each region in South Sumatera Stuggle Agencies and Sub – Commands of South Sumatera or namely Subcoss were formed to assist the smoothness and capability of the civilian government in each region.
